At the Berlin Congress in 1878, Serbia won the status of internationally recognized independent sovereign country named “The Kingdom of Serbia”. Territories, on which other South Slavs – Croatians, Slovenians, Bosnians & Macedonians lived, were without integrity, under the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian rule. In the World War I, these territories were finally freed, with Serbia giving the highest contribution (60% of man population died). On the foundations of the Kingdom of Serbia, in 1918, the new Kingdom of Serbs, Croatians and Slovenians was founded, where other South Slavs finally gained the right of declaring their national identities. The World War II, the establishing of SFRY, wars during the 90’s and disintegration of SFRY, are the facts well-known to everybody, which however, can be correctly and precisely interpreted only if we take into consideration the chronology of events from 1987.
